I would recomment this course to anyone interested in obtaining their irrigator's license. The knowledge is way beyond the abstract -- Jim makes it concrete. I have met a master, and feel I was educated and motivated by the best. Thanks!
I would recommend this class -- instructor's personal knowledge and experience made learning easier.
Thanks to Jim & wife. We were sure spoiled by your hospitality and sense of humor. Thanks for all of your one-on-one time. Priceless!

"I want to thank you for your instruction and great hands-on experience and advice in your class a few months ago. The test went really well. I passed with a 93 average of all the sections. I studied the book and terminology a fair amount (maybe a total of 10-12 hours including the review the night before) and worked all the hydraulic worksheets and specialty problems [in the supplemental notebook] (worked problems for many, many hours). Turns out, the hydraulics portion was the easiest for me (I got them all right). I was banging on my calculator so fast, it sounded like I was sending out Morse code! Kinda embarrasing, but it was like second nature after I had done all those examples...I must have been sleeping during the back-flow prevention device portion of your class though, because I missed a few there (I didn't spend enough time looking at the [supplemental] notebook section that had all the cross connection questions and examples). I thought I knew backflow stuff backward and forward. I just couldn't necessarily apply that knowledge to the situations they presented, I guess. My brother and I went and took the test together. While studying and quizzing him, it became apparent that your class provided more instruction and hands-on experience. In addition, your [supplemental] notebook provided a lot more useful information..."
"Mr. Pentecost was extremely knowledgeable and very professional. However, cramming 7 days worth of information into 5 days is tough. Given the time restrictions the training was excellent. Mr. Pentecost should 'go Navy'. We get the same type of training by quality instructors."
"One of the best instructors I have encountered in over 30 years of professional practice."
I believe that this course was and is a blessing from God in my life. Mr. Pentecost being another. I have learned the basics thoroughly, and now it is time for me to study. Everything about this course, including the food and treats were spectacular.
"I was very pleased with the presentation and application, the unlimited one-on-one attention, and the spirit in this class.... Jim, continue your endeavor in teaching the right way."
"As I am sure you've heard and know, more time would be great, but is not practical economically."
"Jim P. is one of the best teachers I've had ever. Super nice guy!"
"Outstanding class, great teacher - patient with students. Enjoyed the class."
"Mr. Pentecost is an excellent instructor; so much knowledge in little time."
"I really enjoyed the class. I think you did an excellent job of teaching. I have a Masters Degree in Accounting, and you are one of the best teachers I have ever had. God bless you in whatever you do in the future. Thanks."
"A bit harder than I thought, but I learned a lot."
"I am glad I chose this 5-day course versus the 4-day course based on the amount of material that needs to be covered."
"Very educational information to help learn to do this job properly and to know the laws and regulations to keep our water sources safe now and for the future."
"Instructor could not have been any better. I am glad I chose to come from Houston to take the class from him. I would recommend him to anyone that is looking for training in this field. All of my training will be done in his class."
"I wish we had more than 40 hours."
"The instructor communicated well and was very helpful."
"The range of experience of the participants was very wide. Most were in the irrigation/landscape field, but presenter was able to discuss material in such a way that made me feel comfortable."
"If you do not study the night before every class session, you will be lost!"
"Verified my weakness, gained a great deal of respect for the industry and for those that truly know this profession."
"There's a lot more material than I expected."
"The pace was good and the small class gave you a more one-on-one feel that made some of the harder parts of the course more understandable."
"Mr. Pentecost is very knowledgeable in the field of irrigation. His experience is very valuable to future landscape irrigators."
"Great class! Instructor is extremely knowledgeable and experienced and passes on the knowledge well."
"It was a very intense class, but pressure sometimes forces information to be learned."
"Thanks, the course was challenging and informative."
"Very competitive and humbling!"
"Jim is extremely qualified and interesting to listen to."
"Mr. Pentecost is simple and to the point as far as details are concerned. Always patient in answering and helping me out."
"I was very impressed with all the information that was presented in such a short time."
"The material was presented very professionally and in a very understandable manner."
"Instructor was excellent in regards to spending extra time with students. Good at one-on-one training. Made tremendous efforts to provide practice exercises."
